Ordering

Q. What information do I need to place an order with eyecare2eyewear.com?

All you need is a valid copy of your prescription. At the end of your eye examination your optician or general medical practitioner must* provide you with a clear legible copy of your prescription and you should not feel obliged or pressured to purchase your glasses from that particular store.

*Please note this is not always the case and there may be certain clinical reasons that prevent your Optician or General Medical Practitioner from providing a copy such as:

  • if it if deemed in the patients best interests not to have a copy
  • if a referral for a medical reason was made

Q. What if I entered some information incorrectly?

As we process orders rapidly we ask you to double check your prescription and shipping information prior to submitting your order. If you do find an error in your order please visit the Contact Us section of the website.

Q. Are there any restrictions to who can order?

Yes, at present you must be over 16 years old and not be registered either partially sighted or blind as specified in the Opticians Act 1998.

Q. Do you sell bifocal lenses?

Yes, we only suggest that you purchase these lenses if you have been recommended to you by your Optician.

Q. What is the segment shape of bifocal lenses?

As standard we use D28 bifocal lenses. These are 28mm wide "D" shaped segments that are positioned vertically 3mm below the centre of the lens and horizontally are centred on your pupillary distance. If you would like them to be positioned further up or down (higher or lower) then do state on your order or visit the Contact Us section of the website.

We can also make up D35 bifocal lenses which at 35mm are slightly wider and executive bifocals (E-type) that stretch across the whole width of the lens. If you would prefer either of these options then visit the Contact Us section of the website for an individual quote.

Q. Do you sell varifocal/progressive lenses?

Yes, but due to their complexity varifocal lenses require a 'home visit' by an Optician to obtain specialised fitting measurements. At present this service is only available in the Midlands region. Once you have chosen a suitable frame and selected varifocals from the ‘primary use of glasses?’ drop down option you will be prompted to input your postcode to check your eligibility to continue with this type of purchase.

If your postcode is within range you will be able to continue to place your order. Once you have completed your purchase you will be contacted within 24 hours by a member of our team who will arrange for a ‘home visit’ by an Optician. Your new varifocals will be delivered within 28 days from this date if not sooner.

Please note we are aiming to increase the geographic area where this service is available.

Q. Do I need single vision, bifocals or varifocals?
